The hymn “On Jordan’s Stormy Banks” was written by Samuel Stennett, who was an English minister, and first published in John Rippon’s A Selection of Hymns in 1787. It was later popularized by William Walker’s Southern Harmony of 1835. There’s also a contemporary version of the song, released in 2022, by Keith & Kristyn Getty, which is from their album “Christ Our Hope In Life And Death”.
